One Long Weekend

Last weekend was nuts!!! I started the weekend early with
the play Dreamgirls in Boston on Thursday.
Wellesley advertised that the show was coming, made inexpensive tickets available
to students, and provided transportation to and from the theatre. It was
amazing – the movie couldn’t do it justice.

Friday I headed over to MIT to hang out with some guys AND
GIRLS who are students there. I can see that making connections with other
schools is very helpful for upperclassmen when they want to network, promote
events, or just get away from their campus. I’m trying to start building
bridges now, as a first year.

On Saturday I went to a conference for the Black Campus
Ministries of New England. It was a really nice opportunity to meet other
Christians from nearby colleges – I met people from Amherst, Bowdoin,
Tufts, and several other schools.

Saturday night there was a party thrown by a society called Zeta
Alpha. Although we do not have sororities on campus, some students enjoy
joining societies that specialize in things like art or literature.

Anyway, it’s a good thing that I don’t understand football,
because after all that messing around, I had to do homework during the
SuperBowl!
