Favorite Spots on Campus

Happy Friday! Today, I want to write about some of my favorite spots on the Wellesley College campus. I’ve mentioned places I like working at, like Clapp Library and the Jewett Art Library. I want to elaborate and add more general spots on campus I enjoy.

Behind the Lulu student center, there are some paths that lead to Lake Waban. On days with nice weather, I love to walk along these paths to see the lake. That’s actually where I took the lake photo in this post’s header. Overall, I love the nature of Wellesley’s campus. There are many pockets of forest interspersed on campus that are really peaceful if you just want to retreat for a bit.

My next favorite place is the Science Center, or Sci as most students call it. I love working here, especially when collaborating with others. On the ground floor, there are walls that double as whiteboards. Last semester, my friend and I loved using the whiteboard walls to study for our calculus tests. There are always people chatting and working at Sci and as cheesy as this sounds, I just like the energy there.

The final place I’ll mention is Houghton Chapel. This is the chapel on campus and I go there for mindful meditation led by the college’s Buddhist Chaplain (I admit that I haven’t attended meditation in a few weeks, I really need to get back on that…) The interior of the chapel is gorgeous and during meditation, I find myself distracted by the artwork of the glass panels and wood carvings. The chapel is a very beautiful and serene place.

These are only some of the great spots on campus and I recommend anyone who can to visit. I will include all photos I have of these places. Thanks for reading!
