Happening on Campus

This is the last week before spring break here, and I’m super excited to go back home for ten days! Today, I want to share some things happening on campus and give a glimpse into current life here at Wellesley.

Clapp Library Renovations
Our main library on campus, Clapp Library, is being renovated. Renovations began this semester, and it was recently announced that they will go on until summer 2025. Clapp was one of my favorite workspaces on campus, so I definitely have had to adjust this semester. I have been working more in the dining hall or modular lots, which are temporary buildings on the edge of campus while the library is being renovated. There are some other small libraries on campus, like the art library and music library in Jewett Arts Center.

Midterms
These past two weeks have had many midterms, or tests, for Wellesley students. With the way most classes are structured, around now is the time where enough material has been covered in order to take tests on it. I had two tests last week. Midterms season is obviously tough for all students here, and I have to remind myself to set out time to see friends. Some offices, student organizations, and school departments will host special events during midterms; these events include selling wellness kits and hosting group study sessions.

CG Elections
College government elections took place last week! Students run for college government positions like President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, Student Bursar, Chief Justice, Director of On-Campus Affairs, Political Engagement Chair, Community Organizing and Inclusion Liaison, and Organizations Chair. I would say Wellesley students are fairly involved with college government, whether that means running for and serving in a position or attending college government events.

Thank you for reading, and I will be back after spring break!
