Google’s Self-Driving Car

Google’s new self-driving car is one of the most interesting new adaptive technologies that will soon be out on the market. Not only can it be incredibly useful and helpful towards people with disabilities, it can also be used by people without disabilities to make their everyday lives easier.  Many car companies are now trying to insert this new self-driving technology into their vehicles, and are incredibly helpful to people with disabilities, especially those with seeing disabilities.

 

The iBot Stair-Climbing Wheelchair

This wheelchair, created by Dean Kamen, is a self-balancing, stairclimbing wheelchair that will allow people with disabilities that use wheelchairs to climb stairs. This adaptive technology will revolutionize how buildings are built, and if this technology becomes widespread and inexpensive, it will allow for all buildings to be wheel chair accessible as the wheel chair can climb stairs.

 

DynaVox EyeMax System

This system allows people who have difficulty communicating vocally or with their hands to use their eye movements in order to spell out, or pick out words and phrases in order to communicate. This system will allow for better communication and will incredibly benefit those who have difficulty communicating and their families.
