IKEA
About the Device
- The device is bulky, but lightweight.
- The switch is conveniently placed near the thumb
- Sliding the switch halfway starts pulse mode. Sliding the switch all the way turn the device fully on
- Market price: $2.79
Evaluation
- The efficiency of the device was satisfactory. It took about 50 seconds for the milk to froth. When holding the device, the user’s hand and part of their arm will vibrate because the motor is turning the rod so vigorously. The rotation of the end of the frother was not completely circular, which may have downgraded the device’s efficiency.

‘SLICK FROTH’
About the Device
- The body design is tailored to the user with a rubber grip and finger grooves (which reduce vibration)
- On/off button is located at the top. Applying pressure starts pulse mode, clicking button turns frother on.
- Market price ~$25
Evaluation
- Compared to the Ikea frother, the Slick Froth is quieter and vibrates less vigorously in the hand. The motion of the tip of the frother is much more circular, but both frothers took about the same time to froth the milk.
- Overall, the Silk Froth is more user-friendly, but performs similarly to the cheaper Ikea frother.
