Introduction(Farida Moustafa)

안녕하세요! My name is Farida Moustafa and I am an Architecture major/Korean minor at Wellesley and the 2024 Ted Wang Fellow for South Korea. I had the honor of interning at the Seoul National University’s Office of Social Responsibility(SNUSR) this past winter and am currently taking classes at SNU!

Although this is my second time in Korea, this is my first immersive experience in Korea as well as my first time living on my own. Through my work at SNUSR, I have been able to meet so many amazing people, both Korean and foreigners alike, who have helped me feel comfortable and pushed me to freely explore new aspects of Korean food and culture. I’ve had my fair share of Seoul-searching, but because of my new friends, I’ve also had the opportunity to travel to other parts of Korea such as Gyeongju and Gapyeong!

I plan on pursuing a career in architecture and design, but I have a special interest in becoming a professor of architecture. Because of this my interviews will be focused on practicing professionals who also hold teaching positions. I hope to learn more about the interviewees’ architectural interests as well how they arrived at where they are today. Since I am also interested in the expat life, I will also be pursuing interviews to better understand the foreigners’ experience in Korea. Look forward to taking you all along with me!
