At 6:00AM on Saturday, December 12, the steam line that provides heat for Pendleton Hall will be shut down. The shutdown is required in order to allow for work connected with the Pendleton Hall West Renovation and Addition Project to be completed. As a result occupants of Pendleton Hall can expect to experience lower than normal temperatures throughout the day Saturday. The heat will be restored to normal service by 4:00PM. We apologize for any inconvenience this event may cause.

PNW and Founders/Green (Phase II) Renovations to Begin
As you may know, the Pendleton West campus renewal project and the second phase of the renovation of Founders and Green will get underway next week. As construction vehicles and work crews arrive at Wellesley next week, we anticipate these projects will cause minimal disruptions to your activities on campus this summer. Please be aware of the following changes, beginning next week.
Air Conditioning
On Monday and Tuesday, June 8 and 9, the air conditioning in Founders and Green will be offline. The air conditioning will be back online in Green Hall on Wednesday, June 10, but will remain off in Founders until the end of the month.
Parking, Roadways, and Walkways
Beginning on Monday, June 8, the Schneider Center Tennis Court Lot will be closed to faculty, staff, and student cars. It will remain closed until further notice.
The roadway from College Road up behind Pendleton Hall to Green Hall will become a two-way road beginning Monday, June 8, and through the duration of the PNW project. As such, cars will not be able to park along the hill.
The walkway between PNW and Jewett Arts Center leading up to the Academic Quad will be closed through August 2016 (the duration of the PNW project). Instead, you may access the Academic Quad by using the walkway between the Davis and Collins. We will also be creating a temporary walkway on the Munger Meadow side of College Road for pedestrian traffic, as the sidewalk on the opposite side of College Road will be closed during construction. These changes will be implemented in the coming weeks.
For more information about these roadway changes, please see the site logistics plan below. For more details about campus renewal, please see the Campus Renewal website.

Parking Lot at the Davis Closed on Monday
Please be advised that the parking lot adjacent to the Davis Museum, and the access road in between the Davis and Jewett, will be closed to all traffic on Monday, May 11, from 8-11 a.m. These areas will be closed in order to complete some testing work in preparation for the upcoming Pendleton Hall West project. The loading docks to the Davis Museum and Jewett Arts Center will not be available for deliveries during this time. Those who typically park in this lot should instead use the Davis Parking Facility. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact project manager Gerry Buggy at gbuggy@wellesley.edu
Parking Lot at the Davis Closed on Monday
Paths outside Pendleton West this week
As part of the Pendleton Hall West Renovation and Addition Project the following will occur between August 12 and August 15, 2014.
On Tuesday, August 12, 2014, a lift will be located on the Academic Quad in order to assist in a roof inspection of Pendleton Hall West. Portions of the path in front of PNW may be blocked for short periods of time during the day while the machine is moved. People are requested to heed the instructions of safety personnel.
On Thursday, August 14 and Friday, August 15, excavation will occur at the northwest corner of Pendleton Hall West, outside of PNW 208 Foundry Studio. This will require the closure of the walkway that connects the Davis Museum Parking Lot for the duration of the work as indicated on the attached sketch. We apologize for any inconvenience.
For more info, contact Gerard Buggy, gbuggy@wellesley.edu, 781.283.2795.
Walkway Between Pendleton West and Jewett Closed Next Week
Next week, June 23-27, the pathway from the Jewett Arts Center parking lot up the hill to the Quad, as well as the walkway from the Pendleton West loading dock to the Quad, will be closed to pedestrians. We need to close these paths for the week so that preliminary geotechnology work can be performed in the sloped area where Pendleton West and the Jewett Arts Center meet. This work must be done in anticipation of the renovations to Pendleton West, which are scheduled to begin next summer.
