Deconstructed Milk Frothers for All

Ikea Milk Frother Review

Despite its cheap price, the Ikea milk frother turns out to be worth every penny. With just a flick of the button, its whisk-like mixer turns an entire glass of milk into an entire glass of foam. The frother is easy to use and very intuitive in terms of design. It performs so well, in fact, that the only conceivable reason for buying a higher-end frother would be to get a more durable machine (though whether higher prices correlate with higher quality is up to debate). Overall the Ikea milk frother is highly functional but lacks in style and, likely, durability, given the hard plastic that holds it together.

Milkpro Milk Frother Review

The Milkpro milk frother is proof that high-end isn’t always higher quality. The grip on the Milkpro is strangely situated and I struggled to even put the batteries into the Milkpro. Putting design concerns aside, the frother was functional, but I couldn’t in good conscience claim it to be any better than the Ikea milk frother. In fact, the two frothers contain the exact same motor.  The only advantage the Milkpro has over other lower-end models is that its hard plastic shell is sturdier than the flimsy plastic used in Ikea frothers.
