We created a paper vest for our sketch model. To start we took the measurements of Priscilla, as we expect later in the term she will be testing our device. After that we made a half scale model to see how it fits together. Looking up some vest models online, we settled on a three part design: two front pieces and the back piece. We also made some half-size paper models to represent items you would carry in the vest. As the vest is meant for longer term comfortable wear, we figured the items it should keep were keys, credit cards or cash, a wallet, a phone, and a notebook. Once we made these half models we figured out the sizing of the pockets. There are four pockets on the vest- three exterior and one interior.
After making the small vest, figuring out how to design it, and determining the size of the pockets, we built a model in full size. It is wearable, but delicate. The pockets fit some full scale paper models of the carried items. All in all, it is not pretty, but it is wearable. Some expected future problems are going to be comfort, aesthetics, weight, and material.

Update:
We presented our model to Priscilla and the class. They gave us some helpful suggestions:
-Don’t have hole button enclosures as they loosen with time
-Consider an inside fastener to prevent slipping of the vest. Perhaps like the inside of dress pants or a two-breasted pea coat or a buckle
-Be aware of bulkiness of vest and the bulkiness of clothes under the vest
-Possibly have straps instead of wide shoulders
-Velcro for closures. NOT zippers, zippers are very difficult
-Think about the affect of force and weight or bulkiness of items affects the closure
-cellphone attachment?
-Rabit?Rapit?Rippit? Pocket attachment?
-Look at fishing vests for inspiration
-Are the pockets too big? Like the Accordion pocket maybe utilize that more?
-Counterweight? Balance problem if too much stuff?
I like how you took into account the specific objects that you wanted to hold with the vest! I was wondering if the vest could also hold a water bottle.
