For this post I decided to look at the water fountain on my hall. This machine presents very simply and the mapping is quite easy to follow, it only has one button. If you walk up to the water fountain there is only one button, it is clear that it is a push button, and when it’s pushed water comes out. While the button is easy to use and doesn’t require much dexterity the machine itself is not the best for people with handicaps. In order to drink from the fountain the user has to physically lean into it, which would not be possible for someone in a wheelchair. Another issue is that the water flow is not steady and often splashes the user. Really the only feedback this machine provides is that sometimes it hums, indicating that the cooler is on, otherwise there is not much information provided to the user. This machine only has one purpose, to provide water, and it definitely does that.
