Functional Electrical Stimulation, or FES, allows para-rowers to obtain a full body workout. Through the handle of the machine, the rower is able to control electrical currents that are applied to their legs. These pulses cause the leg muscles to contract so that the rower can get a workout that includes their legs.

Dot is a braille smart watch. Like most smart watches dot connects to the users smart phone wirelessly and is able to display things the time to texts, emails, and books. While most braille displays cost thousands of dollars, dot retails for $300. Even though dot is trying to market itself as a way to change braille e-reading that is unlikely to happen. Because dot only displays four characters at a time it would be very difficult to read anything longer than a single word on it. But there may be another use for dot. With four characters dot is the perfect size to display the time and is a lot more efficient than most braille watches on the market.

Liftwear is a self-stabilizing utensil that reduces the users hand movement by 70% making it possible for people with motor control issues to eat without spilling. Liftwear includes a stabilizing handle along with three different utensil heads that can be removed and cleaned in the dishwasher. Liftwear allows people that would otherwise need assistance the independence of feeding themselves.
