Apple is releasing its new operating system, macOS 26 Tahoe, on Monday, September 15, 2025. We strongly recommend that you do not upgrade at this time. We apologize for sending this so close to the release date.
This is an optional upgrade and LTS does not currently support it because we need more time to ensure that various software used by our community are compatible with the new version of macOS.
Known Issues so far
- Antivirus (ESET): The current version of ESET on your Mac will not work with Tahoe, leaving your computer unprotected.
- Printing : Do not upgrade if you print from your Mac. The update will likely delete your list of installed printers and not all printers currently in use can be added back.
Classroom Computers
All classroom Macs will remain on macOS 14 Sonoma and macOS 15 Sequoia until further notice.
What to Do
Please wait to upgrade to macOS Tahoe until you hear from us. For the latest updates and information on known software issues, visit our macOS 26 Tahoe information page.
If prompted to update, please click “Remind me later” or “Not now” until LTS announces these issues have been resolved.
