Important: Upcoming KeyAccess Update

Earlier in the semester you received an email from us about a popup appearing in classroom computers related to the KeyAccess app. Based on consultation with the vendor we will be making a change described below. This change will be applied not just to the classroom computers but all College provided computers.

KeyAccess is the program that manages licensing for software provided by Wellesley College. We will be pushing a change that will turn on autoupdate for this software.

What This Means for You

  • You don’t need to do anything. The update will happen automatically in the background.
  • Your software will stay secure. Autoupdate will ensure KeyAccess has recent security patches.
  • Your software will keep working. It will make sure that the licensed software we provide will continue to work with our license management system.
  • You should no longer be prompted with the request for Keyaccess to be granted access to control your browsers.

Within the next 48 hours, your computer’s KeyAccess application will update on its own, as long as your computer is on and connected to the Wellesley College network.

If your KeyAccess application is too old to update automatically, we will be providing potential remediation options at a later date
