We’ve become aware of an email phishing scam that is currently circulating regarding verifying your account. These emails ask you to fill out a form and ask you to provide an “authentication code” which is your password. Upon providing that, they try to login and need the Duo code, so they reach out to you to ask for that.
This is a phishing email that looks legitimate because it is being sent from a Wellesley account that has been compromised.
DO NOT click on any links or fill out any forms related to these emails. Instead mark them as Phishing emails (when you are on the email, click on the three dots in top right corner and choose Report Phishing).
If you clicked on the link and filled out the form, please change your password at once by going to https://reset.wellesley.edu and then contact the helpdesk.
We will never ask for your Duo codes through text message, phone call, or email. If someone asks for your Duo passcode or password, DO NOT provide it under any condition and please contact the Help Desk immediately.
If you’ve written to us asking if it was a scam, we thank you for your due diligence!
When in doubt, email helpdesk@wellesley.edu.
