5/4/23 5AM – 7AM Papercut will not be available

Papercut, the service used primarily by students to print to public computers on campus, will be unavailable on Thursday, May 4th, from 5 AM to 7 AM. We have become aware of a serious security vulnerability that needs to be addressed as soon as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this busy period of the semester.

05/06/23: Zoom clients on all their devices must be updated to version 5.11 or higher by May 6th.

Zoom will require that all users have updated their version of the Zoom client software on their computers and mobile phones by May 6th.  And if you don’t, you will not be able to join a meeting until you do. Please note that Zoom Client is different from when you start Zoom from your browser. It is a software installed on your computers or phones. For details regarding the client software review this – LTS Zoom Install and Sign In page

Follow instructions provided here – update your Zoom client to update your clients as soon as you can.  Not sure what version you’re using?  You can check your current version here.

To stay up to date you can also enable auto-updates from the Zoom application’s settings in the General tab. We strongly encourage you to turn on auto update to avoid having to remember to update the software.

LTS Support on Monday, April 17th, Patriots Day

LTS staff will be unavailable on Monday, April 17th, Patriots Day, a holiday that the College observes. 

  • Clapp and the Art and Music Libraries will be accessible via swipe access using your ID card between 8:30 AM and 12 AM (midnight). Student employees of LTS will be present during these hours to provide limited support.
  • Special Collections and Archives will be closed.
  • LTS Help Desk and Registrar’s Office will also be closed and we will not be able to respond to the emails sent to the ticketing systems until Tuesday, April 18th.
  • In case of any major issues such as a network or service outage, please call the Campus Police to report. They will call the appropriate LTS staff to help diagnose and correct the issue.

Spring Break Service Outages and Library Hours

Spring Break Service Outages

We will be performing several required upgrades to our network systems on Friday, March 24th from 11 PM until 2 AM on Saturday March 25th as well as from Saturday, March 25th 11 PM until 2 AM on Sunday, March 26th. Within these windows of time, all on campus services will be unavailable. Some services such as the Google suite of services and Sakai will be accessible from off campus or through your phones on campus connected to your cell service provider. The Friday downtime is when generally Workday is down for maintenance, so it will be inaccessible to everyone during that time. However, it will be available during the second downtime starting on Saturday at 11 PM.

Spring Break library hours for Clapp, Art, and Music Libraries

Note: Faculty have swipe access every day from 7am-10pm.

Friday, March 24: Open and staffed 8:15am – 4:30pm

Saturday-Sunday, March 25-26: No Staff 

Monday-Friday, March 27-31: Open and staffed 8:30am-4:30pm. 

Saturday, April 1: No Staff

Sunday, April 2: Open and staffed 12 noon-12 midnight.

LTS Support on Monday 2/20/2023 President’s Holiday

On Monday, February 20th, support from LTS staff will be unavailable in observance of President’s Day. It is a holiday for administrative staff.

2/11/23 – Possible interruption for NTM/Vault File Storage on Saturday, Feb 11th at 1 PM

02/04/23: All users will need to update Zoom on all their devices to version 5.10.3 or higher by Feb 4th

Effective February 4th, Zoom will require that all Zoom users have updated their version of the software on their computers, iPhones and Android phones to at least version 5.10.3.  If you are running an older version and do not update your Zoom before this time, you will not be able to join a meeting until you do.   Please update your Zoom client to the latest version at your earliest convenience.  Not sure what version you’re using?  You can check your current version here.

1/21/23 11:00PM – 2:00AM Critical Server Maintenance

On 12/25/2022 the College’s network experienced a major issue that brought down our College network as well as several other services that run on servers connected to the campus network. Our network engineers were here for several hours to bring everything back up. Subsequently, our network vendor, Cisco, informed us that this outage was the result of a bug in their system that needs to be corrected immediately to avoid facing a similar situation. We therefore must apply the fixes before classes start.

We will be performing updates to our network to fix the bugs that have been identified. This requires all network access to be unavailable and we will be doing this work on Saturday night from 11 PM to Sunday 2 AM where you will not have access to any on campus network services.

TMA will be unavailable on Thursday Jan 12th from 3pm – 7pm EST

In partnership with Facilities, we will be migrating the TMA application to a hosted cloud version. The system will be unavailable during this time on Thursday Jan 12th from 3pm – 7pm EST.

AFTER the migration is complete the access point into TMA will be the same. Please go to the Facilities home page, and click on the Service Request button. You will be asked to provide your Wellesley username and password. Please use your single sign on credentials. You no longer have to maintain a separate username and password. 

Don’t forget to bookmark this new location!  Additionally, remote access to TMA will no longer require a VPN connection.

LTS Service Coverage on Monday 1/16/23 MLK Holiday

Although there are classes scheduled on Monday, January 16, several LTS services will be unavailable because it is a holiday for administrative staff.

  • Clapp Library and the Art and Music Libraries will be open via swipe access during normal Wintersession hours, but will have reduced staffing levels. 
  • LTS Help Desk will be closed on Monday, January 16, in observance of the holiday.  
  • While the Help Desk is closed, we WILL be operating the classroom crisis support line, to support the classes that will be conducted that day. If there is an issue in the classroom please call 781-283-HELP (4357) and your call will be forwarded to an LTS employee who will be on campus.
  • Registrar’s Office will also be closed on Monday, January 16.
