9/10 Downtime extended to 11am

Replacement of a faulty part discovered during the upgrade necessitates an extra hour of downtime. Apologies for the inconvenience — every effort is made to make services available as quickly as possible. It takes a full hour to (carefully) bring servers down and  back up, to ensure services are running properly.

9/10, 6-10am: Several services will be unavailable tomorrow morning while upgrades are made:

  • FirstClass
  • college website (CMS and Charlotte)
  • library catalog
  • NTM
  • WebHelpDesk (our ticketing system)
  • Luna Insight (image management tool)
  • blogs will be down between 5:30-6:30am
  • MeetingMaker will be unavailable beginning at 7pm tonight, 9/9

The work will be done as quickly as is possible to minimize the downtime. Many services will still be available, including MyWellesley, Gmail, Sakai, blogs, Vault, and campus calendar. We will put a web page in place of the college home page with links to available services and an explanation to visitors.
