1/25 Campus internet update, wifi disruption before 8:30 in academic quad

Our profuse apologies again for the disruption Monday.

LTS successfully completed the reconfiguration of the wireless network in the residence halls Monday afternoon. Students should see normal speed and performance again in their residence halls. Any student still having problems should please call or email the Help Desk as soon as possible, 781.283.7777 or helpdesk@wellesley.edu.

These changes should have a positive effect campus wide. In addition, we plan to reconfigure additional addresses in some of the academic and administrative buildings to ensure that all IP space on campus has optimal performance. In Founders, Green, Pendleton, and Jewett, when a faculty or a staff member comes to campus Tuesday, their wireless computers and devices should automatically pick up the new addresses.  Wired devices will be unaffected.  There will be some disruption in these buildings between now and 8:30am as a result of this work.

We will provide a detailed report to the community on this outage in the next couple of days.
