7/13 Zoom Phone Transition for Faculty, Campus Police, Facilities, Counseling, & more

Faculty and several departments will migrate to Zoom Phone on Tuesday, July 13. As of this date, if you are dialing from an old phone on campus, you will not be able to reach any staff in these offices by dialing their four-digit extension. You must dial the full 9 + 1 + 781-283-xxxx number to reach staff in these offices. All staff and faculty on Zoom Phone will be able to reach each other through four digit dialing and will have to dial the full number to reach any on-campus extensions of other departments.

Departments moving to Zoom Phone on July 13:

Botanic Gardens, Campus Center & Events, Campus Police, Child Study Center, Copy Center, Counseling, Facilities, Faculty, Mail Services, Printing Services, Science Center Staff.

As a reminder, this is exactly how College phones will work for each group as we make the transition to Zoom Phone. Everyone who still has an old on-campus phone will be able to reach each other by dialing four digits, and everyone in the Zoom Phone system will be able to reach each other by dialing four digits, but calling from Zoom Phone to a phone on the old system requires dialing the full number and vice versa. We understand that this can be confusing, but should not pose a major problem because most faculty and staff are working remotely and are already dialing the full 10 digit numbers.

We will send additional announcements for the remaining departments transitioning to Zoom Phone.  If you have any questions please contact the Help Desk.
